Golden Globes Best Dressed

Oh how we love Awards Season. Last night was the 71st annual Golden Globes, and of course we couldn't resist stalking out the red carpet looks!

(We even live tweeted the red carpet arrivals - make sure you are following us on twitter!!!)

Without further ado, here are our best/worst dressed!

Best Dressed

Lupita Nyong'o in Ralph Lauren.
Our #1 FAVORITE!! BEST DRESSED
Margot Robbie in Gucci. Our twitter followers were especially a fan of this
look and we agree.  Gorg award.
Amy Adams in Valentino. Perfection.
Allison Williams in Alexander McQueen.
Cate Blanchett in Armani Prive. Nailed it.
Olivia Wilde in Gucci Premiere.  She's glowing!
Sofia Vergara in Zac Posen. We applaud her trying a new look! Although
we are big believers in a statement necklace, this one isn't our favorite. Still,
she looks stunning!
Usher in Calvin Klein. We're a little biased I suppose. #ATL

Worst Dressed

Kaley Cuoco Sweeting in Rani Zakhem. Not our favorite.
Sandra Bullock in Prabal Gurung. Really don't love this color combo but
also not a fan of the shiny, wrinkled fabric mullet hemline.
Zoe Saldana in Prabal Gurung. One tweeter described this as looking like a pinterest
project gone wrong.  Yikes. Have to agree.

Most Talked About

Paula Patton in Stephane Rolland Couture.
The truth is I don't actually hate this.
Stay with me now...
Sure it looks like several rolls of toilet paper are possibly growing on her shoulder.
Robin Thicke's wife certainly blurred some lines. Honestly I'm more worried about the white,
satin platform pump that is showing because the dress is too short. This would
have worked much better if it were sleeveless, had a different neckline, wasn't too short,
was in a better color, styled with better shoes, and
had a slightly less overpowering statement ruffle. (So, in other words, it would have
worked if it were totally different.)
Julia Roberts in Dolce & Gabbana.  Thoughts?
Jennifer Lawrence in Dior. We love JLaw but this look didn't necessarily impress.
Words we heard used to describe this dress: Cupcake, Lampshade, Shower Curtain,
and Little Mermaid.  Thoughts?

Best Dressed Couple

Matthew McConaughey and Camilla Alves in Dolce & Gabbana. Stunning.

And there you have it. Our own little version of Fashion Police!! Who was your favorite??

Thank you for stopping by fab'rik Files today!! Happy Monday!

The Time Has Come

Awards show season can never come too soon! & while I love a good afternoon of football playoffs, I am always itching for the fashion face offs & trend setting styles that commence at the Globes
Last night was jam packed with glamour, sparkle, & shine -- overall the ladies brought their A-Game (especially Tina & Amy who brought appropriate humor & laughs back to the Globes after last year's rants...) Also, was a huge fan of the declarations of love we witnessed in last night's acceptance speeches... like I needed anymore reason to love Ben Affleck & Hugh Jackman??
One celeb after another came trotting down the red carpet in some of the best gowns we've seen in years... If this is a prelude to what's to come, I can't bare the anticipation of the encore!

Amanda Seyfriend: Givenchy Haute Couture (fab'rik favorite: Frederick)  "On trend while still reflecting her personal style. GORGE!"
Jessica Chastain: Calvin Klein Collection -- always love unexpected shades on the red carpet
Lucy Liu: Caroline Herrera (fab'rik favorite: Ally) "I'm always a big supporter of full gowns & risk taking on the red carpet! The print is just icing on the cake!"
Claire Danes: Atelier Versace -- the ruching detail is incredibly flattering to her svelte frame, can't believe she just had a baby??
Eva Longoria: Emilio Pucci -- great texture & silhouette
Kerry Washington: MiuMiu -- modern flapper done awesome
Amy Adams: Marchesa
Lena Dunham: Zac Posen
Kate Hudson: Alexander McQueen (fab'rik favorite: Kristi) "She was so on-trend with the black and gold combo.  It was sophisticated and elegant with the perfect touch of sexiness with the deep neckline."
Isla Fisher: Reem Acra -- no such thing as too much sparkle
Kristen Wiig: Michael Kors -- love this sexy look on her!
Julianne Hough: Marchesa -- incredible detail
Jessica Alba: Oscar de la Renta (fab'rik favorite: Angélique) "I had a tie between Jessica & Kate Hudson, but am such a fan of Jessica's impeccable use of color. Her brilliant combination of glamorous waves & diamonds made this a winner in my book!"
Nicole Kidman: Alexander McQueen -- she's back!!!
Hayden Panettiere: Roberto Cavalli -- super flattering, great color on her
Katherine McPhee: Theyskens' Theory -- daring yet elegant
Naomi Watts: Zac Posen -- another great use of color, always a fan of a long-sleeved look!

Anne Hathaway: Chanel Haute Couture (fab'rik favorite: Taylor) "Love the simplicity of this dress while it's still personifying her personal style. I was also a huge fan of Jessica Chastain's look!"
Megan Fox: Dolce & Gabanna
Jennifer Garner: Vivienne Westwood
Jennifer Lawrence: Dior Haute Couture
Jennifer Lopez: Zuhair Murad
Heidi Klum: Alexandre Vauthier (fab'rik favorite: Shonica) "The structure of the dress and the way it fit her was amazing! Love the minimal detail that made it very classic!"

All Things Golden

Good evening addicts! As those of you who have been following this blog for a while already know... last night was one of my fave nights of the year. Yes, I'm obsessed with award show season. I love it, I live for it, & I love that my husband watches them with me (full of his own opinions of course).

Overall, I thought last night was pretty fantastic. There wasn't really anyone who just completely missed the mark.. in all fairness they're wanting to feature their personal style on the red carpet.

I loved the palettes people chose, the hair, the makeup, the jewels. There was never an, "oh my god what was she thinking" moment.. just a few, "hmm... not sure about that one".

On the opposite end of the spectrum: those who were good, were really good...

 Jessica Alba in Gucci.
Such a fresh color. Her skin was literally glowing & her hair was exactly what this dress needed. I love that while this isn't a completely out there look it's still not something we've seen a million times before.
 Angelina Jolie in Versace.
Clean, classic, & crisp. Always knows how to do the red carpet.
 Charlize Theron in Dior Couture.
A fan favorite & such an awesome statement. She's always 'bringing it' & we all seem to agree on what she 'brought'.
Claire Danes in J.Mendel.
I am a sucker for an awesome back detail, so between the plunge & the adornment I'm literally obsessed with this. I really love the whole: business in the front, party in the back vibe ;)
 Diana Agron in Giles Deacon.
What amazing detail. So cool.
 Elle McPherson in Zac Posen.
A bit bridal but the silhouette is awesome. Everyone couldn't stop talking about how young she looks.. rightfully so.
 Emma Stone in Lanvin.
It's official (as if it weren't already) Emma Stone is my girl crush. She is so cool it's not even fair. Who else can wear an eagle accented belt to the Golden Globes?? The color + the styling = flawless.
 Stacy Kiebler in Valentino.
Best Arm Candy.. George Clooney of course ;)

 Kate Winslet in Jenny Packham.
So unusual for Jenny Packham to not bedazzle a dress! Love the shape on Kate's awesomely curvy body!
 Kate Beckinsale in Roberto Cavalli.
Husband's favorite ;) Love the shape, the color & her. Such a simple yet bold statement!

 Michelle Williams in Jason Wu.
Her acceptance speech may be one of the cutest ever. Always such a vintage & different vibe on the red carpet. Someone I always look forward to seeing!
 Mila Kunis in Dior.
Some called this 'boring'. While this is simple I appreciate that this is a nod to the fact that this year she was a presenter vs. a nominee.. One must know it's role on the carpet & Mila fit hers perfectly.
 Natalie Portman in Lanvin.

 Reese Witherspoon in Zac Posen.
Sophia Vergara in custom Vera Wang
 Lea Michelle in Marchesa.
 Nicole Kidman in Versace.
Shaeline Woodley in Marchesa.
